60 kids become ill in Araria, Bihar, after consuming lunch, and an investigation is ordered

The school administration denied the claim and stated that the children became ill after attending a village feast. On Wednesday, approximately sixty students from a middle school in the Araria district of Bihar reportedly became ill from what they believed to be food poisoning after eating the midday meal.

When the kids started throwing up on Wednesday night, around nine o’clock at night, they were taken to the Araria District Hospital. Thankfully, the majority of the kids are safe, according to sub-divisional officer (SDO) Aniket Singh, who was quoted in the Hindustan Times. “Most of them have been discharged, but some of them are still receiving treatment,” the SDO continued.

According to the report, shortly after leaving Jitwar Middle School in Godhi Tola, Araria, students complained of headache and stomach-ache symptoms. About 8:00 p.m., they began to throw up.

The number of students experiencing the symptoms rose, and the situation quickly got out of control.

Locals reported that “within a few minutes, over 50 children fell ill, triggering panic among the villagers.” “We notified the local MP as soon as possible, and after speaking with the civil surgeon, three ambulances were dispatched to the village to transport the ill children to the hospital.”

Vidhan Chandra Singh, a civil surgeon, declared, “All children are safe.” It was determined by the civil surgeon to be a case of food poisoning.

“Out of 437 enrolled students, 227 were present on Wednesday, and they were served ‘khichdi chokha’ in the midday meal as per schedule,” stated school headmaster Abhinandan Rishidev in the meantime.

The school headmaster refuted the claims that the midday meal was the cause of the children’s illness, stating instead that all of the sick children are from a single locality and became ill after attending a village feast. An investigation has been ordered by the district education officer.
