According to sources on Thursday, actor Tamannaah Bhatia has been called in relation to the promotion of a separate app from the Mahadev online gaming and betting application.

The Maharashtra cyber cell has called the actor for allegedly encouraging people to watch Indian Premier League (IPL) matches on the Fairplay betting app.

Ms. Bhatia, who has acted in movies such as “Lust Stories 2” and “Baahubali,” has been called in as a witness and is expected to appear before the cyber cell the following week.

According to a broadcaster’s complaint, some IPL matches were streamed on the app without authorization.

Statements from singer Badshah and the managers of actors Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez have already been recorded by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell.

The FairPlay Betting App

A platform for betting exchange, FairPlay provides a large selection of sports and entertainment wagering for recreational players.

The most popular sport on FairPlay, according to the app’s website, are tennis, football, and cricket.

According to the website, FairPlay streams every sporting event live so that users can “watch and win at the same time.”

The Mahadev Betting App Connection of FairPlay

A spinoff of the Mahadev online gaming app, FairPlay offers platforms for unauthorised betting on a variety of live games, including football card games, cricket, poker, badminton, tennis, and chance games.

Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, who had starred in advertisements for the Mahadev betting app, made headlines last year when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) called them in for interrogation.

Prosecutors became interested in the app following a cash-only wedding in the United Arab Emirates in February of last year, which cost Rs 200 crore.

The Mahadev Online betting app was run by Dubai-based Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal. They are both from the Bhilai region of Chhattisgarh.

The business used to frequently launch new websites and private groups on chat apps in an effort to attract new clients. To make money, they would frequently run sponsored ads on social media apps and attempt to get users to text their numbers.

The Enforcement Department (ED) has been looking into the money laundering case connected to the Mahadev app for over a year. In the past, the ED has claimed that their investigation has revealed the involvement of several high-ranking officials and politicians from Chhattisgarh.

The ED estimates that approximately Rs 6,000 crore was made from this crime.
