Angkrish Raghuvanshi: who is he? A KKR rookie marks his arrival on the big stage by hitting a 25-ball fifty in his first inning against DC.
Young Angkrish Raghuvanshi of the Kolkata Knight Riders made his grand entrance into the Indian Premier League with an explosive half-century in his first-ever innings against the Delhi Capitals. At M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Raghuvanshi made his IPL debut in the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, but he was not given the opportunity to bat. In the meantime, he dominated the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday by hitting a 25-ball half-century with his adaptable shot-making all over the field.
Following Phil Salt’s early departure, Raghuvanshi came out to bat at number three. The eighteen-year-old wasted little time in hitting back-to-back boundaries. He and Sunil Narine exchanged beats, wreaking havoc and overwhelming the DC bowling attack.
With a strike rate of 200 and five fours and three sixes in his knock, the 18-year-old scored 54 runs off of 27 balls. Meanwhile, after Shreyas Iyer chose to bat first at the toss, he and Narine (85) shared a 104-run stand to lay the groundwork for KKR’s enormous total.
