Authorities detain a phony casting agent for deceiving a Mumbai woman. An individual was detained by Mumbai’s Juhu Police Station for trying to con Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s production company by pretending to be offering employment in connection with a scheme to defraud social media influencer Pooja Anandani.
Ms. Anandani was purportedly approached by the detained suspect, Prince Kumar Sinha, 29, in a deceptive manner, but she escaped being a victim because of her quick thinking.
A Juhu Police officer described the events in detail, stating that the accused first got in touch with Ms. Anandani and identified himself as “Rohan Mehra,” supposedly working for Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films.
The accused lured Ms. Anandani with a job offer, claiming to be involved in the making of a movie based on the Nirbhaya case, and invited her to meet in Juhu, even though they were not connected to the production house.
They met for the first time at a neighborhood coffee shop, where he allegedly asked Ms. Anandani to stand for pictures with a photographer who claimed to be friends with Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan.
They then made plans to reconvene at the JW Marriott in Juhu, where Ms. Anandani had already reported the incident to the police.
The officers quickly moved in and took Prince into custody at the scheduled meeting location.

Juhu Police information claims that on April 3, the accused called Ms. Anandani on his cell phone using the alias Rohan Mehra, claiming to be an employee of Cape of Good Films.
However, investigations revealed that no such individual worked at the production house. Ms. Anandani verified the fraudster’s dishonesty by alerting the production house as soon as she realized it.
Ms. Anandani responded by filing a complaint at the adjacent Juhu Police Station, which resulted in the filing of a case against the offender and his subsequent apprehension.
The episode emphasizes how common fraudulent activity is in the entertainment sector and how crucial it is to be vigilant against these kinds of scams.
Juhu Police laud Ms. Anandani’s intelligence for foiling a possible con. Authorities are asking people to proceed with caution and confirm the legitimacy of offers before accepting them while they conduct ongoing investigations into the matter.
