BJP vs. Trinamool Over Bengali Mob Attack on the Anti-Terror Agency (NIA). Prior to the “festival of democracy,” senior TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee charged the BJP of “murdering” democracy. He also forecasted that the saffron camp would be completely destroyed in the state during the Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP responded sharply to Mr. Banerjee’s statement, claiming that the TMC was tense because it felt like the ground was slipping away from under it.

“The Lok Sabha results in Bengal and India have the BJP concerned. Mr. Banerjee told reporters in this location, “That is why they are desperate to kill democracy, and that too during the biggest festival of democracy – the Lok Sabha polls.”

He claimed that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) were working together with the BJP to persecute the opposition parties.

After ten years of misrule and hostility to incumbents, the BJP is aware that it cannot win on its own. In order to intimidate and detain leaders of the opposition camp, they have called in the aid of their reliable allies, the NIA, CBI, ED, and I-T (income tax department). He stated, “We are against witch-hunting, but we have no problem if these agencies take action against the real culprits.”

When an NIA team attempted to apprehend two primary suspects in the Purba Medinipur district blast in 2022, it was allegedly ambushed by a mob on April 6. This set off a political spat in which West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused the investigators of attacking local villagers.

In response to Abhishek’s comments, state spokesperson for the BJP Samik Bhattacharya called the accusations “baseless.”

“The BJP is certain that it will win and secure the 35 seats that it needs. The TMC is the one that is losing ground politically and has a sense of defeat. That explains why they are leveling such petty accusations,” he stated.

The TMC secured 22 Lok Sabha seats in 2019, the BJP achieved its highest number of wins with 18, and the Congress managed to secure just two seats.
