It was suggested to me a few years ago to take protein supplements, so I tried a well-known domestic brand, thinking it would be safe.
It caused me to have major health problems within 6 to 8 weeks. Fortunately, once I stopped, the health condition improved.

A recent study that was published in the journal Medicine suggests that protein powders, particularly those that contain dietary supplements and herbal remedies like vitamins, minerals, and other natural or artificial ingredients, may cause hepatotoxicity.
“Protein supplements frequently have misleading labels and contents. We thoroughly examined well-known protein supplements in India for possible hepatotoxic compounds based on industry standards in this transparent, self-funded study,” the study’s findings stated.
According to the study, several of the main formulations included hepatotoxic herbal extracts and several contained dangerous heavy metals like lead and arsenic.
