In just 44.3 overs, Sri Lanka Women managed to chase down a 302-run target. Nilakshika Silva contributed an undefeated fifty-one off seventy-one as the Asian team lost just four wickets.
With her opening partner Lara Goodall, Laura Wolvaardt of South Africa Women’s captaincy stitched together a partnership of 116 runs, scoring 184 runs off 147 balls at the top of the order. Kavisha Dilhari, an off-spinner, contributed two wickets for 47 runs in ten overs.
In response, Sri Lanka chased the record total in just 44.3 overs thanks to record-breaking knocks from Chamari Athapaththu. There were five sixes and twenty-six fours in the innings. Silva led the team in scoring with a strikeout percentage of 70.42, while no other batter reached the 30-run threshold.
