Before Making His IPL Captaincy Debut, SRH’s Pat Cummins Said He Wants To See A Really aggressive Start

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins stated they are looking forward to a “aggressive” start in the upcoming season ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Cummins stated that 20-over formats are challenging in a video that was posted on the Hyderabad-based team’s official social media account. He called the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) a “good team” and showered them with praise.

Thus, some preparation is needed before you just want to get off to a great start. T20s are challenging. Although Kolkata is a strong team, Cummins stated that he would prefer to see a more aggressive opening to the season.

Hyderabad’s IPL 2024 journey will begin on Saturday at the venerable Eden Gardens against the Kolkata-based team.

They have a young player on their team who is “exciting,” he continued. In addition, the 30-year-old expressed his excitement to collaborate with young musicians.

“I think our combination is excellent. We have a few more seasoned players, such as Bhuvi. Obviously, last year’s captain Aiden Markram. However, we have some exciting new talent. “I think fans should be pretty pumped for the season ahead,” he continued. “I am super excited to see guys like Abhishek and Umran Malik, these kind of guys I have only seen a little bit of but super excited.”

In preparation for the upcoming IPL 2024 season, SRH fired legendary West Indies batter Brain Lara and appointed former New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori as head coach. They recently installed Pat Cummins as the new captain for the upcoming campaign, taking over from Aiden Markram.

With David Warner, the star opener for Australia, leading the team, the SRH franchise has only won one IPL championship thus far, in 2016. Under the direction of prominent New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson, they advanced to the 2018 edition’s finals, where they were defeated by Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Before the IPL 2024 auction, the Hyderabad team traded Mayank Dagar to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and acquired Shahbaz Ahmed from them. They also released players like Harry Brook, Kartik Tyagi, Adil Rashid, Akeal Hossein, and Samarth Vyas. In the IPL 2024 auction, SRH bought Cummins for Rs. 20.50 crore,  Travis Head for Rs. 6.8 crore., Jaydev Unadkat for Rs. 1.6 crore., Wanindu Hasaranga for Rs. 1.5 crore, and Akash Singh and Jhathavedh Subramanyan for Rs. 20 lakh.
