Modi Name Ensures Win, Not Nervous”: Paralympian’s First Election. Star paraathlete and new BJP member Devendra Jhajharia quotes Franklin D. Roosevelt to highlight his struggles, saying that while winning the Churu Lok Sabha seat will be made easier by Narendra Modi’s name, life’s challenges are far more difficult.

India’s most decorated paraathlete expressed confidence that his political debut will be as successful as his two-decade career in sports and expressed no fear of his “turncoat rival,” Rahul Kaswan, a two-term MP who defected to the Congress after the BJP refused to give him a ticket.

The BJP and the Kaswan family have found a stronghold in Churu, a city in Rajasthan known for its intense heat, for the last fifteen years. However, Mr. Jhajharia stated that this is no longer the case, having entered politics from his birthplace, where elections are set for April 19.

The 42-year-old has won two gold medals in the paralympic javelin throw competition.

In an exclusive interview with Press Trust of India, Mr. Jhajharia stated, “I am confident of registering a historic victory with my debut in politics as well. I made my debut in the 2004 Paralympics in Athens by winning a gold with a world record.”

He was climbing a tree when, at the age of eight, he came into contact with a live electric cable. The young child did receive medical care, but in the end, an amputation of his left hand was necessary. “The road to politics is not easy, but it is small compared to the challenges I have encountered in my life so far,” Mr. Jhajharia remarked.

“The difficulty of running for office was once questioned of American President Franklin D. Roosevelt. He said it did not even seem like a hardship to get to the White House because of his severe childhood polio struggles. This does not seem like a huge deal because I have also struggled so much since I was a young child,” he remarked.

The javelin champion approaches life with the same calm, especially when it comes to his chances of winning and his future in politics. He said that since Kaswan emerged victorious in the last two elections during the ‘Modi wave,’ his downfall was imminent.

“The BJP won Churu by about 12,000 votes in 2009.” Due to the charisma of the prime minister, the victory margin in the 2019 “Modi wave” was 3.34 lakh, compared to the approximate 3 lakh margin in the 2014 wave. This time, the distinction could reach up to five lakh,” stated Mr. Jhajharia, the first paralympian to receive the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honor in the nation.

The Churu voters believe that “Narendra Modi’s name is a guarantee of victory.” All that voters know is that Modi must return to power and that the lotus represents Modi.” He believes that the issue of the Ram temple will resonate with voters.

“After waiting for many generations, Modi ji gave Ram Lalla a home that people will never forget. People shout Jai Shri Ram slogans everywhere I go. When I attended the temple’s inauguration, tears were in every person’s eyes. Ram Mandir will undoubtedly play a significant role in the election,” Mr. Jhajharia stated.

He is unconcerned with theories that the division of Jat votes will hurt him.

“I do not discuss caste at all. As a player, I have been trained to prioritize India. I view all Indians as my brothers, and maintaining the tricolor at the top of the priority list.”

Successful athlete and president of the Indian Paralympic Committee Mr. Jhajharia claims that he was motivated to enter electoral politics by his desire to support PM Modi’s goal of transforming India into a developed country.

“All Indians are proud of Modi ji for the past ten years. I thought it would be really important for me to support the prime minister’s efforts to turn India into a developed country, even in the smallest way.”

“In terms of sports, India’s graph has risen significantly over the past ten years. Programs like TOPS (Target Olympic Podium Scheme) and Khelo India greatly aided the athletes, and the quantity of medals rose. I reasoned that since I have dedicated 22 years of my life to sports, I should now perform community service.” Mr. Jhajharia is confident he can manage both politics and his role as president of the Paralympic Association. He has plans for Churu ready as well.

“As a player, I maintain my energy and adopt a positive outlook. I am sure that my respect as a player will be reflected in my vote total. The former Khel Ratna award winner declared, “I will provide Churu players all the facilities that have not been available up until now.”

Claiming that the previous Congress government in Rajasthan was corrupt, he said that Churu has not seen any development and that the locals are very angry.

“There is a lot of anger among the people who are deprived of drinking water. During the Congress government, there was a great deal of corruption in the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme. The people still lack access to drinking water. For both farmers and young people, connectivity needs to be improved.”

“Churu, which is home to numerous dhams like Salasar, Deva, and Gogamedi, can grow its tourism industry. Development work can now be completed quickly in the state thanks to the election of the BJP government.” He responded that farmers are content with the Central government’s plans when asked if their discontent is a significant problem.

“The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, toilet construction, etc., have made the beneficiaries very happy.” The farmers want the formation of the Modi government, and that is why I am campaigning from village to village in rural areas,” he continued.

  1. Hi there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing several weeks of hard work due to no back up. Do you have any methods to protect against hackers?
