The Citizenship (Amendment) Act  CAA will not cause any Indian, regardless of religion, to lose their citizenship, according to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s statement on Monday.

He accused the DMK and the opposition Congress of “creating confusion” regarding the matter.

Rajnath was speaking following a roadshow in this area in favor of KP Ramalingam, the party’s Namakkal candidate for the Lok Sabha elections on April 19.

The building of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the repeal of Article 370, and the CAA were examples of the kind of assurances the BJP consistently carried out, he said.

“We fulfilled our promise to pass a citizenship act. “I would like to make it clear that no one’s citizenship will be taken away from them, regardless of their religion—Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Parsi, or Jewish,” he stated.

He claimed that “the DMK and Congress are creating confusion on the matter.”

He declared that “mothers and sisters” of all faiths are “our mothers and sisters” and that triple Talaq should be abolished. He declared, “We stand with our mothers and sisters, regardless of their religion, and we proved this by ending triple talaq.”
