In a significant development in the case, police have uncovered a plot involving the intelligence agency of Pakistan, the ISI, in the murder of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Vikas Bagga in Nangal, Punjab.
The president of the VHP’s Nangal unit, Vikas Bagga, was shot and killed on Saturday night at his shop near the Rupnagar railway station by two unidentified gunmen. Mandeep Kumar and Surendra Kumar are the two suspects that the police have detained in relation to the murder.
According to the State Special Operation Cell and Rupnagar police, the murder case of Vikas was resolved in less than three days, according to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav on Tuesday.
“In a significant development, Rupnagar Police, working in tandem with SSOC #Mohali, has resolved the Vikas Murder Case in less than three days by apprehending two members of a terror module supported by terrorist masterminds based in Pakistan,” the DCP stated in a post on X.

An alarming connection between ISI and a few jobless young people in Punjab has been uncovered by the investigation. According to reports, ISI has been enticing jobless individuals with cash and drugs in order to use them as sleeper cells for targeted murders in Punjab.
For the job, ISI brought in a Punjabi citizen from Nava Shehar who had recently visited Portugal in search of work. Despite being promised a job, ISI agents managed to trap him. He was given the mission of tracking down and killing drug-addled young people in Punjab.
Additionally, the police have learned that the shooters who killed Vikas Bagga received payment of Rs 70,000 for their services. It has been reported that ISI agents stationed in Portugal gave the order for the attack.
The terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International, which has its headquarters in Pakistan, is thought to be connected to the masterminds of these operations.
