Everyone is aware of Virat Kohli’s intense rivalry. The Indian cricket team star is rarely matched in intensity by anyone on the field. Kohli is a steadfast supporter of both his IPL team, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and his national team. Kohli is one of the top scorers in the IPL 2024, having amassed 316 runs at an average of 105.33 in five games. His ability to strike is 146.30. But out of five games, his team has lost four of them. Mumbai Indians and RCB play on Thursday.

Kohli scored 113* in RCB’s previous game against the Rajasthan Royals, which is his joint-highest IPL score. A gesture made by Virat Kohli during the match has gone viral. Following a four-ball off RR’s Avesh Khan, Kohli appeared to mock-bang his hand in the air with his gesture.

There is some history between RCB and Aveash Khan. The player reacted angrily during an IPL 2023 match between RCB and Avesh’s previous team, the Lucknow Super Giants. When his team defeated RCB in a run-chase, Avesh was on the field and celebrated by tossing his helmet to the ground. Avesh received a sizable late fine for the gesture.

Kohli appeared to be making fun of that gesture.

Chief selector of the Indian men’s team, Ajit Agarkar, praised Virat Kohli for “setting a benchmark” in terms of fitness, pointing out that the star batsman’s rigorous diet and exercise regimens have been passed down to the younger players.

Virat is presently playing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. This tournament is his opportunity to demonstrate that his slightly more conservative approach to T20 cricket, which combines aggressive hitting with anchoring skills, is still a great model to follow these days when batters are going big from ball one. The T20 World Cup begins on June 1.

Agarkar stated, “You look at guys like Virat (Kohli); he is one of those guys who set the benchmark,” in an interview with the SportifywithPRG podcast.

“You can see the results of his increased fitness after only 10 to 15 years in the field. When a person such as him leads by example and presents the things or fitness levels that are necessary, it gradually spreads throughout the ecosystem.”

“It has advanced (to the younger generation) gradually. The fitness levels of players are the only change that has occurred over the last 15 to 20 years or so, Agarkar said.
