Rohit Sharma has a growing reputation in the Wankhede cricket stadium, and Hardik Pandya’s negative reputation has also increased.At Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, a now-familiar scene occurred as fans jeered the IPL team’s captain, Hardik Pandya. After rejoining his original franchise after two seasons as the Gujarat Titans (GT) captain, Hardik Pandya took over as captain of the MI. Since then, he has faced criticism from former India players as well as taunts and jeers from some fans.

 

The five-time IPL champions’ disastrous start to the season—losing their lung-opener to GT and losing their second game to Sunrisers Hyderabad—only made his problems worse.The footage of Pandya being jeered went viral. Eoin Morgan, the captain of England that won the World Cup, said on Jio Cinema: “I have never seen a home captain getting booed like that.”The MI captain was met with unwelcome behavior at his home ground, Wankhede Stadium, as supporters persisted in jeering the all-round player, following their jeering of him in Hyderabad.

During Monday’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 toss between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), supporters jeered Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya. Former India player turned cricket commentator Sanjay Manjrekar asked the Wankhede crowd to “behave.The fans were not afraid to voice their opinions when Manjrekar named Hardik the MI captain; they jeered the 30-year-old.During the toss, Manjrekar introduced the captains of both teams and urged the crowd to “behave” as they jeered the newly appointed MI skipper for the third straight game.

 

A hearty round of applause, ladies and gentlemen, for Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya and the two captains who are with me. Act appropriately!” Manjrekar stated this in an IPL video that was uploaded on X -see the vedio.

 

At that precise moment, Rohit was meeting his former teammate Harbhajan Singh, who was present at the field as a commentator for the pre-match show, according to news agency PTI. Rohit was dressed in his training kit.In case they were not enough, Pandya once again encountered the wrath of the crowd, particularly from the Sachin Tendulkar stand, as he emerged to bat with his team trailing 20/4 in the fourth over.

Furthermore, according to officials here, the fans were only permitted inside the stadium after their banners were seized as a result of a directive from the Mumbai police that was issued by the election commission. Nonetheless, there was a degree of misunderstanding and miscommunication because, although the instruction prohibited political banners, supporters claimed on social media that all of their banners had been removed.
