A day before his visit was supposed to start, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced this morning that he had postponed his intended trip to India because of “very heavy Tesla obligations.” During his two-day visit, Elon Musk—the owner of SpaceX and Tesla—was scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and reveal his plans to raise capital for his companies.
The richest man in the world acknowledged on X that he had postponed his trip, but he expressed excitement about going to India later this year.
I really do look forward to visiting later this year, but regretfully the visit to India has to be postponed due to extremely demanding obligations with Tesla.

The tech entrepreneur expressed his excitement about his upcoming visit to India later this year, saying, “Unfortunately, very heavy Tesla obligations require that the visit to India be delayed.”
Following his statement last week that he was “looking forward to meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in India,” reports surfaced indicating that Musk might visit the nation on April 21.
Assuring that Tesla will join the Indian market “as soon as humanly possible,” he had met the Prime Minister in the US in June of last year and called himself a “fan.”
His trip to India was anticipated to result in developments for Tesla and Starlink, the satellite internet company he owns, as they capitalize on the nation’s expanding domestic market.
According to reports, electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla is searching for new markets, and India is one of them.
Initial approvals for Starlink to operate in India are expected, according to AFP news agency. A few days prior, the government announced that it was modifying its policy on foreign direct investment in the space industry to allow foreign investors to more easily join Indian companies.
